Dahl Recipe





1/2 cup Masoor Dal or Mung Dahl
1 Tomato
1/2 tsp Jeera
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/4 tsp Cumin
1/4 tsp Coriander
1/4 tsp Fennel
2 Green chili
3 tsp Ghee
1 level tsp Himalayan Salt
3 Garlic Cloves

1 bunch cilantro


How to make simple dal:

  • Boil the dahl with salt, turmeric powder, and slit green chillies.
  • In another pan, heat oil, add the cumin, coriander, fennel, tomatoes and garlic pods, saute on a high flame till the tomatoes are soft and pulpy.
  • Add the boiled dal into this with little water, boil well for 15 minutes to incorporate the spices (masala) into the dahl, garnish with coriander.
